Bummed out

I have to admit, I’m really sad today. I sent an email to my favorite, favorite, favorite magazine, Coastal Living, today to ask something about submitting queries. After a few emails back and forth with their awesome Lifestyle editor, Sarah, I come to find out they never received my query I sent at the beginning of the month! I want to write a story for them about a couple in Maine who take guests on their windjammer. I got copies made of about 12 photos and sent them with a query letter and clips at the beginning of the month. And nothing … they never received it! What’s that about? Hmm. I’m really upset about it because I really, really thought it was a perfect fit for the magazine. Now I need to gather it all up again, get more copies of the photos made, etc. It’s worth it, though. To me, this magazine is the absolute, most fabulous ever printed. So … time to start the process over. Wish me luck.

About me

I’m Kasey, mom and wife of the Jackson Five family of Indianapolis fame. My hubby is Michael Jackson. Yup. Now you’re getting it … MJ is head of the Jackson Five. The rest of the clan consists of three young boys. I’m merely a backup singer. I have very little say in anything. 🙂 Do you believe that??? Hmmmm…. We’re goofy and have lots of fun. We had Jackson 5 T-shirts made to wear in the hospital when baby #3 officially formed the Jackson 5. Kid you not.

Hi! Welcome to my blog. You must be at least a little curious, or you wouldn’t be here. So, here’s a little about me: I’m a mom, wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, co-worker, Barefoot Books stallholder, and friend.

This blog should serve at least one purpose: For me to tell you all about my journey with Barefoot Books, a wonderful independent children’s book publisher that I’m so glad I stumbled upon. This blog will keep you updated on how the stallholding business is going, and how I juggle it all. I hope I don’t drop the ball, so to speak. I have a lot of balls in the air…that’s for sure.

The blog will also tell you some stories about my family life. I have three young sons and a wonderful husband. They all make for great stories. (Yup, you read that right–I’m surrounded by MEN).

I might once in a while tell you a bit about my hobbies and interests, such as goings on with my Kiwanis club or a great book I’m reading. I’m also more than a little obsessed with all things Alice in Wonderland and Lewis Carroll. But that’s a whole other story …

So, thanks for reading …

Alice: “But I don’t want to go among mad people.”

Cheshire cat: “Oh, you can’t help that. We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”

Alice: “How do you know I’m mad?”

Cheshire cat: “You must be. Or you wouldn’t have come here.”
